This radio station features music from the Cantopop era;
and listening is a treat ! For those of you new to some of
the artists; go and hear some beautiful music.

While the artistic website has yet to be fully created; I
wanted to make the public more informed as to what our
goals and ideas were; thus, in the United States, I have
placed a sister site, and hope others shall visit.
This site is placed within a Health section. I will place
the link along with the others, and once again, thank you.

Considering what " TakingItGlobal " represents, many shall question why this area has been created; but I was impressed with the diversity I discovered, while exploring.
In truth, it was a difficult choice whether to place this in the Arts section, or Health and Wellness catagory.
Both are well represented .. art and health, mental health, to be specific.
Many creative individuals have placed memorial websites, some excellent, but leslieslegacy.org has a vision to not only remember Leslie, but .. as the TakingItGlobal logo states .. INSPIRE ... INFORM ...INVOLVE ... in his artistic excellence, and also Depression education.
Depression is a killer, make no mistakes about that .. and it robs ; it robs those of quality life, and in the depths of despair, it causes some to end their lives.
What may one express to the surviving members of a family ?
Leslie Cheung was one of many gifted human beings, besot by this illness, one of many celebrities who have destroyed themselves.
Beauty, love, money, talent, shall never replace the God given gift of health .. emotional health ..
One, as has been said .. may have it all .. but if they don't have health, life takes on a completely different dimension.
In finality, leslieslegacy.org .. seeks to INSPIRE others .. and by doing so .. INFORM them .. and hopefully ..
INVOLVE .
There is nothing more inhumane than indifference, and non-tolerance.

Anita Mui's Fantasy Gig .. this performance was held in July, 2002, with Leslie as her guest. They sang the duet that accompanied her video, which he directed ( Leslie ) and this was the beginning of the public's knowledge that Leslie was not well.
It would be announced shortly thereafter that he was suffering from Acid Reflux Disease, which had affected his vocal chords, thus requiring him to take a three month hiatus from any singing.
This would prove to be just the beginning ....

As the public knows, Leslie Cheung committed suicide on April 1, 2003, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. He left a note, citing " Depression " ! It is our intention to provide sites here that will educate those not knowing about this mental illness, and assist those who are suffering from this disease.
It is a tough battle, at times .. others, close to one, try, but are not always capable, of comprehending the inner torment depression creates.

There are now many publications being circulated about
Leslie's life, and art.
One book, published by Ming Pao, titled .. " Legend " did not receive good reviews, as fans objected to the contents, citing
erroneous facts ... Could it be that fans don't wish to
comprehend that Leslie was, after all, a human being ??
Another, " Time of Leslie " is a Japanese created book, and some of these may be found on

One may have to explore this site; as certain aspects of ordering and contents may change, per differences in countries.
However, many have wondeful, and never before seen photos
of Leslie, throughout his glorious career.

On December 6, and 7, 2003, in Los Angeles, the Asian Film Organization held a tribute for
Leslie Cheung, with memorabilia, commentaries by directors and colleagues, and the showing of several of his best films.

Some of the proceeds from this event went to his charities;
The Children's Cancer Fund and Ending Child Sexual Abuse.
It proved to be an emotional evening, but fans kept in mind, it was in celebration of his life, rather than his passing.
